What can one-on-one teaching do for you?

Have you ever been to a historical place like the Pyramids or Maccu Picchu?  They are beautiful places, but without a tour guide, you don't get a real understanding of how amazing and significant they are.  Having a guide can change the whole experience.  

Just like having an experienced English teacher can speed up your learning.  You are the focus and together you can make an action plan to get you from A to B.  Reaching your goals is the GOAL!

How will I improve my English?

Before your first session with Ryane, you will get a Goal Setting Worksheet.  This is going to help guide the lessons.  You are going to think about the areas of English that you want help with.

Maybe you don't know exactly what you need, but understanding your goals will help guide the classes.  For 99% of my students, English is HOW they are going to get to their goals, not THE goal.  You need English for your job, to get into college, or go on vacation, to or to understand a friend or family member better!

The goal isn't English.  English is getting you to your goal.  

What if I know my goal, but I don't know how to get there?

If you have ever played sports, you had a coach.  The good coaches could watch you play and then tell you what to improve.  They saw habits, good and bad, that needed changing.  I'm going to be that coach for you.

When you take your car to the mechanic, they don't expect you to know everything about your car. 

​

I don't expect you to know everything about English.  I've taught for years.  I know most of the answers. Together, we will make a plan of what to study and what needs improvement.  I will let you know what parts of English you should focus on now for your current level and abilities.  We will focus on the language that will get you to your goal!

Ryane started teaching at a small university in Oklahoma. She liked teaching so much that she got a master's degree in Teaching English as a Second Language (MATESOL). Then she worked at the largest university in the state of Oklahoma for many years.  She moved to Southern California and started teaching at a school and managed curriculum development and teacher training. Ryane has been making YouTube videos since 2016.
